Autumn holidays

 

What are you going to do during autumn holidays? Are you going to be stuck indoors? What can you do to relax and have fun indoors?

Are these holidays going to be somehow different than the ones in last years? How?

English Competitions

English School Competition for class 8 will be on Monday, 19th October 2020 at 1 p.m. This year's theme is »Slovenian tales, myths and legends – When we lose our myths we lose our place in the universe. (Madeleine L’Engle). You can find more information about the competition here.

Let's go to the cinema!

When did you last go to the cinema? It seems really a long time ago, doesn't it? 
What kind of films do you like watching? Why? What's the best film you've seen recently (either in cinema or on TV)? What's the best film you have ever seen? 
Watch  this film trailer and say weather you would like to see the film. Why (not)?

What's the weather like today?

Do you usually listen to or watch the weather forecast? Why(not)? What's your favourite weather? 

Watch this weather forecast for today. Then look for today's weather forecast for a foreign city or country (for example London, Sydney, New York or  Japan, etc.) and write what the weather will be like today. Will it be better or worse than in Ljubljana?

22nd April - Earth Day

As you know, today is the day when we think more than usual about the beautiful planet we live on. Watch our planet as it can be seen high from above, from the International Space Station.   Write your opinion about the short video.

Try to predict our future. What do you think, how long will we have to stay and work/learn from home? Will we come back to school in May? Will life after corona virus quarantine be better or worse? Why do you think so?

Home schooling

Now you have two weeks' experience of home schooling or distance learning. Compare this with learning at school. What is better, what is worse? Do you miss anything / anyone? Write a few sentences comparing both schooling.

The trees

In the 6th grade we have talked about the trees and why they are good for us. Now listen to the story The giving tree and then answer the questions:

What is the boy (man) in the story like? What is the tree like? What does it give to the boy?

You can find the book in the Slovenian language. What is its Slovene title? 

Do you care about the world we live in?
